This program gives students the skills, knowledge and experience for a stimulating and rewarding career as a Secondary school teacher. Students study discipline content in two teaching areas with experts in the subjects while learning in a flexible, engaging and dynamic environment. Core courses help to deliver graduates who are prepared and confident in their teaching ability for a diverse range of learners. Students learn to design and deliver effective teaching programs from Year 7 to Year 12 with professional experience placements which are guided by, but not limited to two teaching areas. This program is accredited with the Queensland College of Teachers and graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a teacher in school contexts. A Blue Card or Exemption Card is required, refer to Blue Cards and Working with Children Check. While this is not a requirement for admission, all students will need to organise and demonstrate a pass result in all components of the LANTITE prior to the final supervised Professional Experience and to graduate from this program.
