Students can combine their passion for mathematics with an accredited qualification in engineering. In the mathematics component, students will gain advanced understanding of mathematical applications. They will apply this across a wide range of engineering fields. Students will graduate with strong technical expertise. They will develop essential workplace skills in communication, teamwork, project management, and problem-solving. Studying mathematics alongside engineering strengthens their technical capabilities. It opens pathways to further study, such as an Honours year in mathematics. Modern computing has also expanded the use of mathematics. Advances in scientific technology, and the growth of big data take mathematics beyond traditional engineering and physical sciences. Today, it plays a critical role in finance, economics, information technology, and molecular biology. Graduates with advanced quantitative and analytical skills are in demand. They are leading innovation across a wide range of industries.

Note: Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 and 4, C) is recommended for this program. Students without Specialist Mathematics or equivalent may be required to undertake preparatory courses which may not enable the program to be completed in the minimum time without overloading or undertaking summer study.
