Human rights is a highly significant and swiftly growing field of research and practice within law, criminal justice, history, philosophy and politics. This new degree leverages ACU’s scholarly strengths in human rights across multiple Faculties to create a new, specialist bachelor’s degree that will be attractive to the committed altruists who are attracted to the mission and service-oriented posture of the University and want a specialist qualification that will prepare them to be the leading human rights advocates of the 21st century.
A double degree in Human Rights and Law will be attractive to students interested in supplementing their specialist study of human rights with a degree that will prepare them for a legal career. This double degree will provide substantial knowledge for graduates who are keen to work in the growing human rights system in Australia, in regional fora, and internationally.
The Bachelor of Human Rights/Bachelor of Laws is 400 cp AQF Level 7 double degree course, normally completed in 5 years. It is a cross-faculty initiative with the Faculty of Education and Arts, the Faculty of Law and Business and the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy.
