In QUT’s Bachelor of Information Technology/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) double degree, you’ll gain advanced knowledge, practical skills and an ethical mindset to succeed in both legal and tech sectors. The law component offers a real-world curriculum aligned with AQF Level 8, preparing you as a skilled legal professional with strengths in research, communication, negotiation and dispute resolution. You’ll develop critical thinking and technological awareness to respond to changes in legal services, and explore international and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. Expert educators will guide your learning for modern legal practice.
Simultaneously, you’ll build broad theoretical and technical IT knowledge, learning to design, build and maintain secure systems using industry tools. You’ll think critically and strategically, apply modelling and abstraction, and assess ethical use of technologies like AI. Authentic learning experiences—including internships, capstone projects and WIL—will build your communication, teamwork and adaptability. You’ll explore the social, cultural, legal and ethical dimensions of law and tech, and graduate ready for careers in legal practice, policy, compliance, legal tech, cybersecurity, and innovation leadership.
