Studying law and cyber security offers a unique skillset, blending legal expertise with the technical knowledge required to navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape. You’ll be prepared to address complex challenges at the intersection of technology, data privacy, and cyber crime, as well as the legal frameworks shaping the future of the internet and cyber security. Through Griffith Law School you’ll have the opportunity to choose electives based on your interests and will make connections between law and ethics, legal theory, Indigenous issues, and internationalisation. Study core areas of cyber security, including network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics, risk management, and cyber threat analysis to protect systems and data. You’ll develop the expertise to investigate and identify current and future cyber security threats, conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of networked devices and infrastructure, and generate and implement innovative cyber security solutions. Utilise cutting-edge facilities, including the new Cyber Range, to hone your security skills. You will gain practical experience through internships, industry projects, and real case studies, building a professional network and equipping yourself with the skills needed to thrive in both the legal and cyber security sectors. To be eligible for admission as a solicitor, a person must complete an approved law degree (undertaken approved practical legal training via a practical legal training course of Supervised Traineeship at a Law firm) and be able to satisfy the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board and the Supreme Court of their fitness to practise.
