Combine a passion for mathematics with the skills, knowledge and practical experiences required for teacher registration and employment. Students receive a thorough preparation for their teaching areas through their professional studies in education. These studies draw on practical learning and the latest research into effective teaching to ensure that they well-equipped to teach. Study a combination of essential and specialised topics in mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra and differential equations and recent applications in coding and cryptology, mathematical physics and biology, bioinformatics and finance. Be well prepared for secondary school teaching or for training roles in business or industry. A Blue Card is required; refer to institution. Students undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree are required to successfully complete the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) in order to graduate, and must pass the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA).
Note: Fourth year of the degree (professional year) commences in Semester 1 only and must be completed full-time.
