The Advanced Entry pathway is designed to advance knowledge, research, and practice for applicants who are already registered professionals in counselling or other allied mental health disciplines. Such applicants are not required to meet initial registration requirements. The Master of Counselling equips students with advanced counselling skills, prepares them for practice, extends practice into specialist areas, and can be a pathway to a Doctorate. For more program information, visit Master of Counselling at UniSQ.
Please note applications for 2026 are now closed via QTAC. Current QTAC applicants are still being considered. New applicants are encouraged to apply directly to UniSQ for all 2026 intakes.

Counselling leads to careers in a range of settings: community health centres, schools and universities, as well as for not-for-profit organisations, commercial organisations, government departments and in private practice.
You will be able to graduate with the knowledge, skills and an ethical practice framework that enables you to deliver counselling and psychotherapy interventions covering a wide range of areas: from counselling in relationships to grief and loss, trauma, domestic and family violence, mental health problems and abuse through to counselling for alcohol and other drugs.
A UniSQ Counselling degree allows you to work locally, nationally, and internationally as your skills and knowledge are transferable and in high demand.
